According to the SANA news agency, the crash site has been cordoned off with US armoured vehicles. It is not immediately clear what caused the crash.

A US helicopter has crashed in Syria’s northeastern province Al-Hasakah, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported Tuesday, citing local sources.

According to the media outlet, the incident occurred in Tel Haddad village near Al-Ya’rubiyah. The type of the helicopter and the cause of the crash were not immediately known.

The site of the incident has been cordoned off by armoured vehicles of the US forces.
