The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) scored a new advance in Idlib last night after capturing several areas earlier in the day.
Backed by heavy airstrikes from the Russian Air Force, the Syrian Arab Army’s 25th Special Mission Forces Division (formerly Tiger Forces) resumed their offensive by storming several towns and villages around Ma’arat Al-Nu’man’s eastern countryside.
According to a military source near the front-lines, the Syrian Arab Army managed to capture Ma’ar Shourin, Al-Za’alani, Al-Dana, Babila, Al-Sawama’, Ma’arsan, and Tal Al-Sheikh east of Ma’arat Al-Nu’man.
The source said the Syrian Arab Army has since secured these captured towns and villages near Ma’arat Al-Nu’man, as they attempt to encircle this strategic city in eastern Idlib.
The Syrian Arab Army resumed their large-scale offensive in the Idlib Governorate over the weekend, as they made another attempt to capture Ma’arat Al-Nu’man from Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and the Turkish-backed National Liberation Forces (NLF).
