Kronstadt’s Grom UAS mockup is a concept for a loyal wingman that would target an enemy’s air defense systems ahead of Russian manned fighters.

On April 16, the Kronstadt group of companies began construction of Russia’s first specialized plant for the serial production of strike drones (BPLA). This was reported by the press service of “Kronstadt”.

The plant will be located in Dubna, near Moscow. The production will be environmentally friendly and quiet, its total area will be 45,000 square meters. m. Production is scheduled to start in November 2021. Investments in the project will amount to more than 4 billion rubles, the company will provide permanent work for more than 1,500 people and will send more than 900 million rubles of annual tax deductions to the budget.

Kronstadt is developing the Lightning unmanned aerial vehicle, the Thunder and Inohodets heavy-duty BPLA, also known as the Orion.

At the moment, the company also has its own pilot plant and design center in Moscow.
