China and Russia continue to build a comprehensive strategic partnership that is not directed against third countries, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying told a news conference on Friday (April 2nd).

“The partnership between China and the Russian Federation will only strengthen, despite changes in the international environment,” Hua Chunying added, adding that it “cannot weaken.”

At the same time, she stated that “cooperation between the People’s Republic of China and Russia is not directed against third countries.”

We remind you that during the visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to China in late March, the two countries agreed to automatically extend the Treaty of Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation for another five-year period.

In recent years, the two Asian and global giants have been strengthening their cooperation due to the growing American pressure on both countries – political, military and economic, ie sanctions.
