BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:45 P.M.) – Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said during the Egyptian government meeting on Thursday, that the Egyptian armed forces are fully prepared and ready to ward off any dangers to which the country may be exposed.

Madbouly described the statements of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi about Egypt’s right to defend its national security to be decisive and clear, pointing out that the army is ready to carry out any task ahead of them, including a potential operation in Libya.

Last Saturday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed that the Egyptian army is able to defend the country’s national security inside and outside its borders, while inspecting the forces of the western military region near the border with Libya.

The Egyptian President described the cities of Sirte and Al-Jafrah as “red lines”, stating that Cairo has the “international legitimacy” to intervene in Libya.

Turkey, who backs the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA), has rejected Egypt’s claims, vowing to continue the offensive against the Libyan National Army (LNA) until they reach their desired results.
