BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:20 P.M.) – The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Cairo and Doha exchanged official memoranda, according to which the two countries agreed to resume diplomatic relations between them.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement: “In connection with the implementation steps within the framework of implementing the mutual commitments contained in the Al-Ula statement, the Arab Republic of Egypt, today January 20, and the State of Qatar exchanged two official notes, whereby the two countries agreed to resume diplomatic relations between them.”

Qatar Airways announced the resumption of flights to Egypt, starting from January 18, with a daily flight, and to Bourj El-Arab Airport in Alexandria on January 25, with two weekly flights.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation decided to reopen Egyptian airspace to Qatari aviation on Tuesday, January 12, after the decision to close the airspace, which lasted for nearly 3 years.
